A living starter

Flour, water and wild yeast, fed on the counter and used at its peak.

Time as an ingredient

We don't set a time for it, the dough tells us its time.

Nothing goes to waste

Zero-waste, low-stress home baking. Every bit of starter earns its keep, and we only bake what has been ordered.

Our story

Welcome to DeCasa

Growing up, some of my fondest memories were rooted in the simple, comforting rhythm of food shared with family, especially inspired by my dad, who taught me everything that I know about cooking.

When I started baking sourdough, it was a form of therapy: a return to that slow-clock philosophy. I began baking purely to bring warmth, comfort, and a taste of home to our own table. Baking for just our household meant every loaf was crafted with patience, care, and a whole lot of love.

Now, I am so excited to share that exact same love with you.

At DeCasa, we specialize in low-stress, zero-waste home baking right here in Torrance. We blend traditional slow-fermented sourdough with a signature Brazilian twist, bringing you everything from classic crusty breads and comforting Pão Francês to sweet surprises like our Romeu & Julieta loaf.

“In our kitchen, cooking for others is the ultimate form of love and the table is always better when it's full.”

From our home to yours,
— The DeCasa Family

Ordering & logistics

How it works

Sourdough runs on its own clock, so we do too. Four things worth knowing before you order.

  • Pre-orders

    Orders close Wednesday night

Get your order in by Wednesday night and it goes onto that week's bake sheet. Miss it and you are on the following week — unless you send a special request.

We only bake what has been ordered — that is how nothing gets wasted.

  • Pickup

    Sunday mornings in Torrance

Pickup is generally Sunday morning, and sometimes Saturday as well when the week is busy. Your bake is bagged, labelled and handed straight to you — fresh, and ready to enjoy.

You will get the address and your exact window once we confirm the order.

  • Payment

    Zelle, Venmo or cash

Pay whichever way suits you. You can settle up ahead of time or when you collect — whatever is easier.

  • Delivery

    By special request (extra fee)

We deliver case by case, on approval. Send us where you are and when you need it, and we will tell you straight away whether we can make it work. Extra cost depends on location.
